Russia threatens Estonia and has military plans against this state. However, Tallinn will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine, which opposes the Russian invasion and actually defends the Baltic countries on its land, writes Ukrinform citing the statement of Ambassador of Estonia to Ukraine Kaimo Kuusk on the air of the channel Ukraine 24.
The diplomat emphasized that Estonia will never cease to help Ukraine because of shared democratic values and for reasons of its own security.
"We decided that we would never abandon you. Nor would we leave other friends who are also victims of aggression. We are very pragmatic, in fact. We are small, but we want to call ourselves compact. We know that our defense, protection, begins with Donbas," said the ambassador.
Kuusk added that his country is ready to share food and weapons "with our friends who are actually protecting us."
"We know that there are military plans against us. They have planned military exercises. Therefore we do not need to wait. We supply weapons to Ukraine, and every Javelin that hits a russian tank diminishes the threat against us," he said.
The Parliament of Estonia recognized russia's actions in Ukraine as genocide. Estonia was the first to adopt such a decision, just as in 1993, it was the first to recognize the Holodomor as genocide.
