Russia's success in Donbas area is limited by strong resistance from Ukraine - British intelligence

British Ministry of Defense noted that the battle for Donbas "remains russia's main strategic direction to achieve the stated goal - to ensure control over Donetsk and Luhansk regions."

"Fighting in these areas was particularly severe in the Lysychansk and Severodonetsk regions, with an attempt to advance south from Izyum to Slovyansk. Due to Ukraine's strong resistance, russian territorial conquests were limited and caused significant losses to russian troops," the British ministry said.
