Ukrainian resistance in Kherson could ruin the Kremlin's plans for a referendum and the creation of a "people's republic."This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

According to MID spokesman Vadim Skibitskyi, russian President Putin will do his best to hold a "referendum" in the Kherson region by any means.

"This will be presented as one of the victories of the russian occupation forces in Ukraine. The next steps could be the Zaporizhzhia and Odesa regions. This is Putin's strategy, which he is trying to implement in the independent states of the former Soviet Union," he said.

At the same time, according to him, the resistance and active position of the Ukrainian citizens in the temporarily occupied territories may disrupt the "referendum" and all plans to create the so-called "People's Republic of Kherson".

The Security Service of Ukraine in absentia declared suspicion to the so-called head of the Kherson city administration "appointed" by occupiers. We are talking about Oleksandr Kobets.

Also appointed by the occupiers of the so-called governor of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo in absentia declared suspicion of treason under martial law.
