Over the past 24 hours, a significant amount of destruction was recorded in the Luhansk region due to shelling by the occupants. Four people were killed.
This was reported on Facebook by the head of the RMA Serhiy Hayday.
The region is currently without electricity, Severodonetsk suffered the most damage, as well as settlements in the Popasna community, on which the russians actively used aircraft.
"Severodonetsk has been shelled since the morning. In some places, due to heavy shelling, rescuers were unable to go to the fire sites for two hours at a time. At least eight houses were damaged, some of them on fire. On May 18, four people were killed in the city and three others were wounded," Hayday said.
In particular, the bodies of two women were found without any signs of life after examination of the apartment, which an enemy shell had hit in the morning. A man died near one house, and a woman and a man came under russian fire on the same street. The first woman was killed on the spot and the man was hospitalized with shrapnel wounds.
Serhiy Hayday added that two more residents of Severodonetsk were injured with shrapnel wounds and contusions, and a woman in Lysychansk had her arm torn off. It also became known about three dead earlier - they are residents of Bilohorivka and Popasna. On the previous day, the occupants also used aircraft to destroy civilian objects in Loskutivka, Yekaterynivka, and Orikhove.
"They carried out assault actions in Ustynivka and Zolote-4, with no success. The settlements have extensive destruction. Houses were also damaged in Vrubivka, Nyrkove, and Komyshuvaha," the head of the RMA added.
In total, sixteen enemy attacks were repelled in the Luhansk and Donetsk directions last day, eight tanks, seventeen units of armored combat vehicles, four special armored vehicles and six regular vehicles of the enemy were destroyed. Air defense units also shot down an enemy Su-34 fighter-bomber.
The soldiers of the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine with the National Guard and SSU destroyed a bridge in the Luhansk region to hold back the advance of enemy troops on Severodonetsk.
