There is not enough food in Mariupol; there is no drinking water, electricity supply, conditions for treating people, and medicines. All these things are accompanied by a critical component, which already has signs of a big problem - epidemic and infection.

Mariupol City Mayor Vadym Boichenko informed about this.

"Today in Mariupol, the occupation authorities ... are trying to connect the buildings to the water supply system, not realizing that this is a joined system that should work with the water disposal system. And this water flowed down like a river through our city. But unfortunately, it only caused trouble because both our residents and the terroristic organization "DPR" (Donetsk People's Republic) chaotically buried our dead [on the streets of the city], and the water washed away these graves. And unfortunately, this is also part of this epidemic problem," - said Boichenko.

He said that the UN has concluded that the city may have outbreaks of cholera, dysentery, and other infectious diseases, and it could take thousands of lives.

Mariupol City Mayor added that the occupiers' actions also led to an environmental problem, as dirty water and sewage run towards rivers and the sea, so there will be a big problem in the summer.

Earlier it was reported that the bombing of the "Azovstal" plant in Mariupol could damage a technical facility that serves as storage for dozens of thousands of tons of concentrated hydrogen sulfide solution. Leakage of this fluid will completely kill flora and fauna of the Azov Sea.
