In Mariupol, the russian occupiers opened a "children's center" in a building with no electricity or water supply, and people cook food on the open fire in the yard.

Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova informed about it.

"To create a “picture” for enemy propaganda, the invaders neglect the basic rules of child safety and their basic needs," - said Denisova.

She added that the russians plan to teach the children in the institution using the russian textbook made up in the self-proclaimed pseudo-state formation in the CADR (certain areas of the Donetsk region). For example, the book "Alphabet of Donbas" contains poems with such lines as "Donbas is russian land" and "our motherland is russia."

The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Parliament of Ukraine emphasizes that such occupiers' actions pose a direct threat to the lives and health of children, thus violating the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War. Furthermore, the occupiers also do not guarantee the child's right to an education that would foster respect for the cultural identity, language, and national values of the country where the child lives, which is provided by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Denisova appealed to the UN Commission on the investigation of human rights violations during the russian military invasion of Ukraine and asked to take into account these facts of russia's violations of children's rights in Ukraine.

Earlier, Denisova reported that in Mariupol, which russia is constantly bombarding with heavy bombs, thermobaric, and phosphorus bombs, the occupiers killed at least 25,000 civilians.
