Adviser to the head of the President's Office Mykhailo Podoliak commented on Twitter on russia's demand to lift sanctions in exchange for unblocking Ukrainian seaports.

"Russia demands the lifting of sanctions in exchange for unblocking Ukrainian ports, blackmailing the world with the food crisis. Typical behavior of a terrorist country taking hostages to ask for a helicopter with dollars. But there are no fools, the world knows who it is dealing with," Podoliak said.

"They talk of lifting sanctions - we need to tie the noose," he added.

Russian blockade hinders food exports from Ukraine. This, in turn, threatens millions of people around the world with malnutrition and hunger.

On May 13, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba discussed this issue with the ministers of the G7.

"Russia is blocking Ukrainian ports, it is launching missile strikes on Odessa, where the largest Ukrainian port is located, which is used to export Ukrainian agricultural products to global markets. These are sunflower oil, cereals, corn and other products," he said.
