By the morning of May 20, russian troops from the territory of the russian federation shelled the border areas of the Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
According to the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, today at 4:00 a.m. the border guards of the Chernihiv unit detected fire from the russian territory near the Ukrainian checkpoint Senkivka. The enemy fired about 8 shots from a 120 mm mortar there.
Also during the night, sporadic non-targeted shots, probably from a mortar, were recorded on the territory of Ukraine within the Semeniv community of the Chernihiv region and Shostka district of the Sumy region.
There have been no casualties as a result of the shelling so far. The data is being clarified.
Earlier the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine reported that russia prepares provocations in the Sumy region using "carrier mortars". Enemy propaganda is trying to shift responsibility for the shelling of civilian infrastructure onto the UAF again.
