President Volodymyr Zelensky will consider Ukraine's victory to come to the [border] lines that existed before the full-scale invasion of russia by February 24, 2022, as he said in an interview with Ukrainian TV journalists.
"I believe that without unnecessary losses to reach the line, which was before Feb 24, for our country today is a victory. Yes, not all the territories have been returned, not everything is that simple. But we have to look at the price of this war and the price of every deoccupation. Everything will return anyway. That's for sure. Absolutely," Zelensky said.
The President believes that Ukraine has managed to break the back of one of the world's largest armies - and russia will not get on its feet in the next few years.
"It's all expensive, very expensive - I'm talking about people. So going to this temporary line of demarcation will be a victory. It will say that they did not capture us, and we defended our land. And then we will move on to the second part. I would like that this country [Russia, - ed.] was smart enough for us to talk about the second part at the negotiating table. And that the result of this conversation was justice, "- said Zelensky.
He noted that the fair result will be when Ukraine "returns everything."
Zelensky also said that the war between russia and Ukraine will end in victory for the Ukrainians, but the final issues will be resolved at the negotiating table.
As of now, the negotiation process between Ukraine and russia has been suspended. Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the President's Office, said that until russia is ready to completely liberate Ukraine, our negotiating platform is weapons, sanctions and money.
Ukraine and russia had a preliminary face-to-face round of talks on March 29 in Istanbul. After that, the negotiations took place online.
