The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyy took part in a meeting of the NATO Military Committee at the level of Chiefs of Staff in the format with Ukraine.

Zaluzhnyy announced this on his Facebook.

He stressed that our people pay an extremely high price for freedom and European choice and that Europe is experiencing the greatest security crisis since World War II. I reiterated my words at a meeting of the NATO Military Committee last January - the response to the aggressor must be consolidated,” said the Commander-in-Chief.

He stressed that the Ukrainian army managed to take away a strategic initiative from the russians, inflict heavy losses on the occupiers and force them to abandon the main goal - the capture of Kyiv.

“Today we are not only defending. We have carried out a number of successful counteroffensive operations. We managed to unblock Kharkiv and Mykolayiv, fighting is taking place in the Kherson direction ... We destroyed the flagship cruiser “Moskva” But the russians support the high intensity of the missile attacks, an average of 10-14 ballistic and cruise missiles per day,” Zaluzhnyy said.

The defenders of Mariupol were also mentioned during the meeting of the commanders-in-chief of the NATO Military Committee. Valeriy Zaluzhnyy stressed that they “their heroic actions restrained thousands of enemy groups and gave us the opportunity to equip the defensive lines in other areas.”

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added that the current armed struggle is complex, it involves a combination of operations that require modern high-precision long-range weapons, effective air defense, and anti-missile systems.

Zaluzhnyy also mentioned the atrocities of the russian occupiers in Ukraine.

“If our grandfathers who fought in World War II were alive, they would cry when they saw what was happening in Ukraine. The methods of the Nazis have not changed. It is the total destruction of civilian objects, the killing of civilians, it is a humanitarian catastrophe, the impossibility of delivering humanitarian goods. The enemy understood perfectly well what he was doing and understands it now. The interception of conversations of the russian military command confirms that they did all this deliberately,” the Commander-in-Chief stressed.

He also thanked the partners for their assistance to Ukraine.

Earlier the General Staff reported that the demoralized russian army in many cases unsuccessfully attacks the Armed Forces and suffers losses.

And in Mariupol Azovstal there are still some Ukrainian defenders who perform tasks.
