There are still many people in Mariupol and nearby settlements who do not accept the Russian occupation and refuse to “help” the invaders.

The adviser to the mayor of Mariupol Petro Andryushchenko reported about it.

He also advised residents of russian-occupied territories on how to survive the occupation.

“Humanitarian aid, pensions and other payments of the occupiers. Do not refuse it. Take everything they give. The more you receive, the more they will have to give again. The greater the costs of the occupiers - the bigger the problems”.

He also explained in which cases it is not necessary to refuse to work for the occupiers.

“If you can/you are forced to work in public utilities and it will improve the lives of our Mariupol residents - work. It's not about self-proclaimed mayor's office and leadership positions. Not all work is collaboration. And most importantly - we must endure deoccupation together. So if your work will improve the lives of Mariupol residents - do not doubt. You work for them, not for the occupiers,” - said the adviser to the mayor.

Andryushchenko advised residents if they are asked by occupiers to comment on the camera to do so according their own safety.

“If the situation requires it, do it. Simple rules on how to avoid self-interest. Say it like this: houses were shelled in the city. But I don't know who, I couldn't see from the basement. To all the clarifying questions about “Azov” or the Ukrainian military, say something like “how you can tell, everyone is talking in russian, and everyone has a military uniform.” That is, avoid a direct answer, translating in the direction of “I do not know, did not hear, did not see.” In that case, they will lag behind,” the adviser said.

He also noted that the offer of settling in someone else's housing should not be refused. At the same time, Andryushchenko called for careful treatment of the owners' property: “After the deoccupation, they will return, and you will not only have shelter, but also save their property for the “departed” Mariupol residents.”

“Remember the main thing. The occupation is not forever. We will all return home soon. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. If possible, evacuate. Life will not get better before the liberation in Mariupol, and Ukraine is waiting for everyone,” he said.

As stated earlier, the invaders organized a “volunteer rally” in Mariupol and an “excursion” to the Drama Theater building, which was destroyed by russian military bombs. The occupiers also introduced one-time passes to travel around the city, for which you must register in the queue.
