The turning point in the war with russia will take place in August, because by that time all the weapons provided by Western partners will be in Ukrainian military units and will begin to be actively used.
That is why the tipping point will begin. The active phase of the war, that is, the active conduct of hostilities, will end by the end of this year. This point of view in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda said the Head of the Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov.
"These are battles of about the level that are happening now, when entire settlements are passing from one side to another. This active phase should decrease considerably by the end of the year. It will come down to almost nothing," he believes.
Budanov added that the war would end with the arrival of the defense forces at our administrative borders and return of all territories, including Crimea. According to him, russia has the resources to wage a full war for 12 months. Budanov believes there are two options for russia itself to end the war: a change of political leadership while formally preserving territorial integrity, or russia splitting into three or more parts.
As recently as last year, Kyrylo Budanov said that a full-scale russian offensive against Ukraine would begin in the winter of 2022. In November, he said that the attack could include airstrikes, artillery and armored attacks, followed by airborne attacks in the east, amphibious assaults in Odesa and Mariupol, and a smaller invasion through neighboring Belarus.
