The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyyy mentioned in his address that the catastrophic developments in the war against russia could have been prevented had the most powerful politicians of the world not played with russia and instead put real pressure on it to finish the war.

"Pressure on russia is literally a matter of saving lives. And every day of protraction, weakness, different quarrels and offers to "pacify" the aggressor at the victim's expense mean more killed Ukrainians. And, therefore, new threats for everyone on our continent," – Zelenskyy highlighted.

US President Joe Biden's administration is preparing to agree on transferring to Ukraine long-range Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) which is now the main request of Ukrainian officials, as CNN reports. It may be officially declared next week.

Regarding the escalation risks which may be caused by strikes deep into russia's territory, Reuters writes citing American officials that Washington discussed the issue with Kyiv. Beside-the-scenes discussions are a very delicate matter therefore they have not been reported before.

The US doesn't consider easing anti-Russian sanctions in exchange for grain exports from Ukraine.

"We want to be very, very clear here because this is very important: this is russia who is actively blocking the export of food from Ukrainian ports and is increasing world hunger. This is on them. Russia should immediately cease its war on Ukraine, which [the war – ed.] is devastating global food security, and allow the free flow of Ukrainian food," – the recently appointed White House's press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre mentioned in a briefing.

By the way, the advisor of the President of Ukraine for economic issues Oleh Ustenko stated in his commentary for American media Newsweek that Ukraine has enough grain to satisfy domestic and global demand until the end of 2022, possibly even 2023.

Meanwhile, heavy fighting in the East is raging on. The enemy is advancing in the Donetsk and Slovyansk directions, 12 occupiers' attacks were repulsed in Donbas over the past day.

The shellings are ongoing, too. In the Mykolaiv region, 14 people got wounded over the previous day, two women came under fire while just herding cows, and one of them died.

The night and morning of 27 May were uneasy in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

"Restless night and restless morning. We have several "arrivals" [missile strikes – tr.]. There are serious destructions," – the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Valentyn Reznichenko wrote on his Telegram adding that currently the rescuers are dismantling the debris and searching for people.

Four people were killed as a result of the enemy's shelling of Sievierodonetsk, and 50 buildings were damaged in the Luhansk region.

In the Chernivtsi region, a fighter jet destroyed an enemy target, the Sumy region is under artillery fire, and in the Kherson region, occupiers are firing at people and blaming it on the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The occupiers' actions in the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant may lead to environmental catastrophe. "At the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant where the rushists' Southern Military district deployed its control center, the occupiers are putting no effort to maintain the proper facility mode which may lead to environmental catastrophe," – the Operational Command South.

The night passed relatively quiet in the Volyn, Zakarpattya, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, Odesa, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhya, Ternopil, Lviv, Khmelnytsky, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Poltava regions.

A photographer Yevhen Sosnovskyy showed the life of Mariupol citizens during the hostilities in the city. The photo diary mostly consists of the shots made before the city was captured by russian occupiers.

Don't miss it, make sure to look at these photographs as hard as it may be…
