Capturing the town of Lyman in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk region, Russian troops destroyed a modern bicycle base there, which was opened only last autumn.
Pavlo Kyrylenko, the Head of the Donetsk Region Military Administration, informed about this.
"The bicycle complex with a specialized BMX route was the only one of its kind in Ukraine. We built it for more than a year and opened it last September. Now this complex has become another “military target" of the Russian army," he wrote in the Telegram channel.
The administrative building at the bicycle base was destroyed, the unique starting ramp and the BMX track with springboards and turns were significantly damaged. The five-storey hostel, which has a gym with power and interactive equipment, medical and massage rooms, a conference room, a dining room and living rooms, has broken windows and a partially damaged roof.
"In 2022, we planned to hold at least two all-Ukrainian tournaments and one international one here. These plans were destroyed by the Russian Federation. We will definitely restore everything and hold more than one tournament in this complex. And Russia will pay for everything. And we will take revenge for it!", Mr. Kyrylenko emphasized.
To remind, the occupiers mostly control the town of Lyman, and the Ukrainian soldiers have arranged new fortified positions in this direction. The General Staff also said that the main efforts of the Russians in the Donetsk area are focused on taking full control of Lyman and trying to improve the tactical situation near Severodonetsk and Avdiivka.
