President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the politicians and people of Luxembourg and thanked them for the historic decision to provide Ukraine with weapons.

The Office of the President reported it.

“Unlike other states, Luxembourg does not have large military depots or significant defense industries. But you showed solidarity with the scale of a large nation and provided defense assistance in time and without unnecessary bureaucracy, as belongs to people with a great soul. You have proved that your potential is more powerful than some of those who have remained weak, even despite the much larger geographical scale. I am grateful to you for participating in the sanctions pressure on russia,” – Zelenskyy said.

He also added that only together all democratic states can ensure such conditions that russia is satisfied with the scale of its own territory and does not encroach on the lives of other countries.

Zelenskyy also invited the Prime Minister of Luxembourg to speak at the Verkhovna Rada and visit Ukraine.

“Again, I want to mention these words: “We want to remain as we are.” Right now, this war of russia against Ukraine is crucial for the whole of Europe. It's a war for values. When we win this war, all Europeans will be able to continue to enjoy their freedom. If one person who wants to destroy any freedom in Ukraine and Europe prevails, then black time will come for everyone on the continent. Such time, which has already been in the history of Europe, which brought the continent a lot of suffering and sacrifice. And the echoes of which can be heard today, unfortunately, sometimes in the voices of those who are trying to break European unity,” – the President stressed.

“Tyranny must lose. So that Europe can remain as it is. Free, open, united, and able to be strong in diversity. And I am grateful to you that the Grand Duchy really protects freedom with us,” – Zelenskyy added.

Earlier, at the end of March, Luxembourg froze russia-related assets worth 2.5 billion euros.

Luxembourg in the first days of russia's full-scale invasion decided to provide Ukraine with anti-tank weapons, transports, and other supplies.
