Ministers from Ukraine and the UK have signed a landmark joint action plan to help rebuild Ukraine's transport network. In particular, the UK Department for Transport is offering funds, engineering expertise and vehicles, the Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry has said.
The UK will donate five Go Ahead Group buses to improve the mobility of the Ukrainian population and will purchase equipment to restore critical grain export routes.
In addition, the British partners will propose a plan to renovate the airport, runway and port infrastructure, and work with the Ministry of Infrastructure to provide training for airport staff, air traffic controllers, and aviation security.
As part of a support package of 10m pounds for the Ukrainian railway station Ukrzaliznytsya it will purchase equipment for repairing bridges and tunnels, and more than 120 containers for transporting grain.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a new defence support package for Ukraine worth 54m pounds (63.5m dollars).
