More than 300 settlements have been liberated in Kharkiv Region during the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Deputy Minister of Defence Hanna Malyar said on FB.

"Today, at a briefing in Balakliya, I said that since 6 September, as a result of an offensive operation in Kharkiv Region, 3,800 sq. km, more than 300 settlements, about 150,000 people, have been liberated," the report says.

According to Hanna Malyar, these figures are confirmed taking into account stabilization measures. The real number of liberated territories in Kharkiv Region is almost twice as big.

Until the beginning of September, almost a third of the region was temporarily captured in Kharkiv Region. During the large-scale offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the cities of Balakliya, Izyum, Kup'yansk and Vovchansk, the villages of Velikiy Burluk and Dvorichna, and villages in Dergachiv and Zolochiv communities have already been liberated.

According to Defence Minister Alexei Reznikov, the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kherson Region is not progressing as fast as in Kharkiv Region because the Kherson area is an agricultural territory "with irrigation canals."
