The European Parliament adopted the resolution condemning the deportation of civilians and the forced adoption of Ukrainian children in russia.

MEPs noted the abhorrent practices in so-called ‘filtration camps’, where families are separated and those who are deemed ‘unreliable’ disappear, the EU Parliament website says.

They (the members) also demand an end to all forced transfers of children, as well as any inter-country adoptions of children transferred from within Ukraine’s internationally recognised borders, the message says.

MEPs emphasize that forcible transfer is a war crime and a potential crime against humanity and demand that the russian government repeals all legislation facilitating the adoption of Ukrainian children.

More than 1,000 Ukrainian children abducted from Mariupol were illegally adopted in different regions of Russia such as Tyumen, Irkutsk, Kemerovo and Altai.

At least 300 more Ukrainian babies illegally taken out of their homeland are placed by russians in detention facilities in the Krasnodar Territory.
