Provided there is no massive shelling, power supply may improve this weekend, the head of the energy company Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyy has said, Radio Liberty reports.

"Due to the fact that there is currently not enough generating capacity in Ukraine, consumers have 27% less electricity available than they should be consuming at the moment. But I think that without shelling we will feel relief on the weekend because people consume less on weekends," he explained.

Kudrytskyy pointed out that Ukrenergo does not cut off electricity supply to specific houses or enterprises.

"We do not see end consumers. Our function is different: to save the energy system as a whole," he noted and added that "no country in history has ever experienced such blows to the energy system that are currently taking place in Ukraine".
