The Verkhovna Rada will appoint Oleksandr Kubrakov as the new Deputy Prime Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, sources from the Servant of the People party told LB after the faction meeting.

The voting should take place soon.

"Combining ministries is the first step to optimise the Government. It is reasonable. We will vote for the decision soon," said the MP.

Another source explained that some internal polls had taken place.

"During the war, the attitude towards him [Kubrakov - ed.] has grown very favourable. Such a merger is logical in terms of saving budget funds. But the main thing is to take into account the bad experience that we had back in 19. I hope that the experiment with the appointment of Kubrakov as a vice with the powers of two ministries will be a good experience. He has already shown his managerial skills," the deputy of the Servant of the People noted following the faction meeting.

It also became known that the Parliament had already submitted a motion to dismiss Kubrakov from the post of Infrastructure Minister.

"Oleksandr Kubrakov's application for dismissal from the post of Ukraine's Infrastructure Minister has been submitted to the Parliament. The reason for this is that, first of all, he should be voted for dismissal. Then on the same day, they will submit a resolution to appoint him Deputy Prime Minister and merge the two ministries (infrastructure and regional policy)," MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak wrote in his Telegram channel.
