Enerhoatom President dismisses ZNPP Deputy Chief Engineer for treason

President of Enerhoatom Petro Kotin signed an order to dismiss Deputy Chief Engineer of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) Yuriy Chernichuk, who also acted as the chief engineer of the plant, the press service of Enerhoatom reported.

The decision was made due to the confirmed information about Chernichuk's collaboration and treasonous activities in favour of the Russian occupiers.

In other orders, Kotin appointed Dmytro Verbytskyy as Acting Director General of ZNPP and Ihor Murashov as Chief Engineer of the plant.

The day before, the Russian Rosenergoatom - the "managing" company for the occupied ZNPP - announced the appointment of Chernichuk as the new "director" of ZNPP.

On 27 November, Kotin said that there were signs that the Russian military was preparing to leave the territory of ZNPP. Out of 6700 employees who remained to work at the Russian-occupied station, only 100 signed contracts with Rosatom under pressure, however, there were some "volunteers" from top management.

Those workers who refused to cooperate with the invaders were not allowed to the station.
