Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv city prosecutor's office have notified the organizers of the service in the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra which glorified the ideas of the "Russian world" that they are suspected of committing criminal offices.

Expert examination confirmed that one of the priests and his associates engaged in illegal activities.

Thus, these persons are suspected of committing offences under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 1 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants committed by a group of persons).

Earlier, Security Service of Ukraine chief Vasyl Malyuk pledged a response to the incident.

"Those who, in the context of a full-scale war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine, are waiting for the 'awakening of Mother Russia' should understand that this harms the security and interests of Ukraine and our citizens. And we will not allow such manifestations," Malyuk said.

The pre-trial investigation is conducted by investigators of the SBU main directorate in Kyiv and Kyiv Region under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv city prosecutor's office.
