On the night of 1 to 2 January 2023, the Russian occupiers launched a massive strike on the territory of Ukraine with Iranian-made Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Telegram.
As a result of the combat work of the Air Force air defenсe in cooperation with the air defenсe of other components of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, all 39 strike UAVs were destroyed.
"Anti-aircraft missile units, fighter aircraft of the Air Force and mobile fire groups are involved in repelling the attack. Equipment and weapons provided to Ukraine by our Western partners are increasingly being used," the statement reads.
In addition, the sky defenders destroyed two operational-tactical level Orlan-10 UAVs and an X-59 guided missile.
