The former commander of the US Army in Europe, retired General Ben Hodges believes that Ukraine will liberate the occupied Crimea by the end of August 2023, if the promised assistance is provided and sanctions against Russia are maintained, he wrote on Twitter.
“Ukraine will liberate Crimea by end of August if we continue to provide what we said we'd provide and if we keep Sanctions in place. Sooner if we provided longer range precision weapons,” Hodges noted.
After 8 years and with all the advantages, this is all that Russia controls! @berlin_bridge Ukraine will liberate Crimea by end of August if we continue to provide what we said we'd provide and if we keep Sanctions in place. Sooner if we provided longer range precision weapons. https://t.co/J5V3wNHBNa

Russia occupied Crimea after an illegal referendum on 16 March 2014. Ukraine and most countries of the world have not recognized the annexation of the peninsula.
