Some modifications of S-300 missiles, which can be launched at Kyiv, are in service with the Russian army, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat has said on the air of the telethon.

"Such attacks as the one in Kyiv are not new for Ukraine. It was the first time Kyiv was attacked in such a way, but we have such examples as Kharkiv, Dnipro, Mykolayiv, Zaporizhzhia region, where the enemy has been using S-300 missiles for a long time to strike critical infrastructure facilities. But more often people suffer because the missiles fly from a long distance, about 150 km and thus hit. Because the greater the range, the greater the inaccuracy," Ihnat said.

According to him, the S-300 could have been brought to the border from the north of the country in advance.

"We do not say where it was. So far, we say that it was in the northern direction. At night there were preparations for a terrorist attack, and so the rocket was launched," he explained.

According to Ihnat, S-400 missile flies at a speed of over 4,000 km/h, and S-300 at over 3,000 km/h.

"There was an attack with S-400 or S-300 missiles. S-300 of certain modifications, because not every missile flies at such a distance. And it was fired literally within 2 minutes from launch to explosions. Therefore, there is such a threat now. Certain steps will be taken, especially in the northern direction, in order to avoid such things that happened," the Air Force spokesman added.

Earlier, Ihnat said that the exact type of missiles that attacked Kyiv on 14 January is being established, but they most likely flew on a ballistic trajectory from the northern direction.
