The United States expects the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine to expand, reports the Berliner Morgen Post, citing its sources.
"We expect an increase in Western military aid to Ukraine - the supply of main battle tanks is part of the discussion," the newspaper quoted a senior American diplomat saying.
In particular, the delivery of American Abrams battle tanks is also on the agenda, at least in the medium term.
Wesley Clark, former Supreme Allied Commander Europe, believes that Western countries should provide Ukraine with hundreds of tanks and more artillery.
Poland is currently forming a coalition of countries that will provide Ukraine with German Leopard tanks. Earlier, during a visit to Lviv, President Andrzej Duda said that Poland was ready to provide Ukraine with a company of modern German Leopard tanks as part of an international coalition. That requires Germany's consent.
