This proposal was approved by a majority of the European politicians present at the meeting and will be included in the European Parliament's resolution.

Today, during the plenary session, the European Parliament supported an amendment to the resolution on the anniversary of the beginning of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, calling for further strengthening of Russia's international isolation, including its expulsion from the UN Security Council.

The corresponding amendment to the resolution was proposed by Lithuanian MEP Petras Austrevicius during the voting procedure, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"I propose to amend the resolution to include the following text: The European Parliament ... calls on the EU and its member states to take further action to continue the international isolation of the Russian Federation, including Russian membership in international organizations such as the United Nations Security Council," the deputy said.

Today, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on the anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. During the plenary session in Strasbourg, 444 MEPs voted in favour of the resolution, 26 MEPs voted against it, and 37 European politicians abstained. In particular, the resolution reflects the crimes committed by Kremlin troops on the territory of Ukraine. It states that Russia is pursuing a policy of genocide and ethnic cleansing in the occupied territories.
