As part of his visit to Kyiv, U.S. President Joseph Biden met with the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), Epifaniy, the OCU reported on Facebook.
"As part of the visit, U.S. President Joseph Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral, where they were met by His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine. The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine thanked Biden for the support that he, the people and the government of America provide to Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression. In the conversation, Biden recalled his previous visit to Kyiv and a visit to St. Michael's Monastery, as well as a meeting with Bishop Epifaniy in Washington in September 2018," the statement said.
At the end of the visit, Metropolitan Epifaniy wished President Biden and the people of America God's blessing.
On Monday, 20 February, the US President arrived on a visit to Ukraine. Biden announced that the United States is providing a new $500 million military aid package for Ukraine, which will include, among other things, missiles for the HIMARS system, Javelin anti-tank missile systems, and more.
