Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni arrived on Tuesday, 21 February, for her first visit to Ukraine, ANSA reports.
Giorgia Meloni plans to visit Bucha and Irpin, and in the afternoon will hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Meloni, who was sworn in as Italy's first woman prime minister last October, will continue the policy of her predecessor, former Prime Minister Mario Draghi, of staunchly supporting Kyiv and sending military aid.
She is expected to express unwavering support for Kyiv.
Last week, Italy approved the sixth aid package to Ukraine. The country's leadership stated that Italy wanted peace, which could only be achieved by continuing to arm Kyiv.
