The new Russian offensive has been going on for about 10 days, but they have not managed to make it successful, the secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, Oleksiy Danilov, has said on the air of the national news telethon.
"The phrase 'major (offensive - ed.)', which they sought, has already faded away. There is no major offensive, as they had planned, and it has been going on for eight or 10 days. There are no successes. There are five areas where they are trying to attack today. But our soldiers are bravely defending our country," he said.
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, Russia is focusing its main efforts on conducting offensive actions in the Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka and Shakhtarsk areas.
