The city of Avdiyivka in Donetsk Region has been almost completely destroyed by Russian shelling, the head of the regional military administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, has said on the air of the telethon.
"Avdiyivka is almost completely destroyed. The destruction of our fortress city of Bakhmut exceeds 80%. In fact, the situation along the entire front line is approximately the same – the enemy, unable to capture these cities, is using scorched earth tactics – using all types of weapons to destroy all infrastructure," he said.
According to him, the intensification of Russian forces – both shelling and offensives – is observed primarily in the Bakhmut sector.
"The Avdiyivka and Vuhledar directions became very hot in February. I can say for sure that the enemy's offensive continues. However, the plans they set and then postpone are not being fulfilled. We are doing everything to not only stop the enemy, but also to further liberate the territory of Donetsk Region, which has been occupied since 2014," Kyrylenko added.
