Some 22% of Ukrainians have started using the Ukrainian language more frequently during the year of war. There have also been changes in national self-identification: the vast majority of respondents identify themselves as citizens of Ukraine (compared to 2021, the figure has increased from 76% to 94%), the Sociological Group Rating has said.

In general, the war has increased public confidence in government institutions. Trust in the Armed Forces of Ukraine has increased from 65% to 97%, and in the president from 36% to 90%. The majority of respondents (63%) believe that it will take at least six months or more to win the war.

There has been a significant increase in public self-esteem. The majority of respondents rated Ukraine's position above average - 4.6 points out of 7 maximum, which is 1.5 times higher than in 2021. Two-thirds of respondents rated Ukraine's future prospects at the highest level.

The main emotion that respondents feel when thinking about Ukraine is pride. As a result of the full-scale invasion and the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people, this figure has more than doubled, from 34% to 75%.

One of the direct consequences of the Russian invasion was the growth of Euro-Atlantic sentiment among Ukrainians, which is at an all-time high. Today, 87% support Ukraine's accession to the European Union and 86% to NATO.

Audience of the survey: Ukrainians aged 18 and older in all regions, except for the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas, as well as areas where there was no Ukrainian mobile coverage at the time of the survey. The results are weighted using the latest data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

To conduct a comprehensive study, three separate stages were carried out: a quantitative survey based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers, an online survey based on a random sample, and a focus group study with three online discussions with respondents from 23 cities and towns in Ukraine.
