Russia continues to focus its offensive operations on the areas of Kupyans’k, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, and Shakhtarske, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said in its evening update on 1 March.

During the day, Russian troops launched three missile strikes on civilian targets in Kharkiv Region, leaving civilians wounded. They also carried out 16 air strikes, including with the use of 2 Shahed-136 UAVs. The combat drones were shot down by the Ukrainian Defence Forces. Russia also launched more than 20 MLRS attacks.

There is a significant threat of missile attacks across Ukraine.

For its part, the Ukrainian Air Force launched 16 air strikes on the clusters of Russian personnel and military equipment. Ukrainian defenders also shot down one Orlan-10 drone.

Missile and artillery units hit one Russian cluster, two ammunition depots, and two electronic warfare systems.

In Manhush District of Donetsk Region, Russians continue to exert pressure on civilians, in particular by limiting the supply of electricity to homes. They destroyed an electric power pole and the settlement lost power for several days.

At the same time, local farmers in occupied territories of Luhansk Region have their summer and fall 2022 harvest spoiling en masse. The occupying administration is completely blocking all local farmers from selling their grain both on the domestic and foreign markets.

It has unofficially banned all local bakeries from accepting grain from local farmers. Ukrainian farmers are desperate because of harvest losses.
