The bodies of 1,409 fallen Ukrainian defenders have been returned home since 24 February 2022, the Coordination HQ for the Treatment of Prisoners of War has said on Telegram.
"The head of the working group on liaison with the media and relatives of the defenders, Andriy Yusov, recalled that since the beginning of the headquarters' activities, 38 prisoner exchanges have already been carried out, resulting in the release of 1,863 people. Among them are 1,756 military personnel and 135 civilians. The bodies of 1,409 fallen defenders have been returned to their homeland," the statement reads.
Yusov noted that the headquarters does not stop international activities to return our defenders. In addition, 120 lawsuits have been filed with the European Court of Human Rights.
