Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, urged residents not to go out on the anniversary of Kherson's occupation but to stay in shelters and indoor facilities.

"This is a particularly difficult day. The anniversary of the occupation of Kherson. Russians are running amok, mercilessly shelling Kherson and villages. Lots of casualties and damage," he wrote on Telegram.

Over the past day, the enemy fired at Kherson Region 86 times, including 9 times at the city of Kherson. Five people were killed and seven wounded.

The shelling damaged power lines. Some substations are de-energized. Tsentr, Zhytloselyshche, Shumenskyy and Ostriv are partially or completely cut off from electricity and heating. Restoration works are underway.

Prokudin noted that the enemy is on the defensive, not the offensive.

After the de-occupation of Kherson and the rest of the right bank of the region, Russians are shelling civilians daily from the territories occupied on the left bank. Yesterday, the Head of the Joint Press Centre of the Southern Defence Forces, Nataliya Humenyuk, said that the occupiers were moving from the left bank of Kherson Region towards Crimea.
