During the air alert in Poltava Region, air defence was operating, said Dmytro Lunin, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration.
"The sounds of explosions heard by residents of the region are the work of air defence. An enemy UAV was shot down," he wrote.
Lunin reminded that the air raid alert was ongoing and urged people to stay in shelters and keep calm.
The mayor of Kremenchuk, Vitaliy Maletskiy, also reported the explosions.
"Sounds similar to explosions heard in Kremenchuk," he wrote.
Update 01:19. Lunin said that according to preliminary information, up to 5 enemy UAVs had been shot down. The information is being clarified.
