The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained Ihor Tkachuk, deputy head of the Odesa regional military administration in Odesa Region, the head of the Odesa regional military administration, Maksym Marchenko, has said on Telegram.
"Together with law-enforcement agencies, we continue to purge all the senior officials who still do not understand how they should perform their duties, especially during the war," Marchenko said.
He added that all the details of the case "will be revealed later".
"I emphasize once again that we will never agree with any illegal activity of persons, regardless of the position they hold," Marchenko said.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed systemic corruption by the deputy head of one of the departments of the Odesa regional military administration.
Before that, the State Bureau of Investigation exposed a large-scale extortion scheme at Odesa customs. Customs officers took money from anyone who transported goods abroad.
