Today, 17 July, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is holding urgent consultations at the UN headquarters in New York over Russia's withdrawal from the grain deal.

"Dmytro Kuleba is holding urgent consultations with partners at the UN headquarters in New York on the next steps after Russia's withdrawal from the grain deal," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

In recent weeks, Russian officials have threatened that Moscow would suspend its participation in the grain deal. On 17 July, Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the grain deal was effectively terminated.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the Foreign Ministry to officially inquire the United Nations and Turkey whether they are ready to continue the grain initiative after Russia's unilateral announcement of withdrawal from the agreements.

On Sunday morning, the last ship under the grain deal left the port of Odesa before it expired on 17 July.

Russia also blocked 29 ships carrying grain for five Asian and African countries in Turkish territorial waters. Russia has completely stopped registering a new fleet since 26 June, indicating its intention to disrupt food supplies to world markets.
