The attack on the Kerch (Crimea) Bridge that took place on the night of 17 July was a special operation by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Ukrainian Navy. The overpass, built by the occupying Russian authorities, was attacked by unmanned surface vehicles.

It was difficult to get to the bridge, but eventually the attempts were a success, sources among uniformed agencies told LB.ua.

Earlier, SBU chief Vasyl Malyuk said that the bridge was a legitimate target for Ukraine and promised to share details of unique special operations after the Victory.

Last night, explosions were heard near the bridge. According to Russian resources, one span of the bridge was destroyed and another was displaced. Traffic was blocked.

The previous attack on the bridge took place in October. At the time, sources in Ukrainian law enforcement agencies reported that the bridge bombing was a special operation by the SBU. However, the SBU has not yet officially commented on its involvement in these events.

"We do not comment on this. We will comment on the role of the SBU or any state body of Ukraine in the 'cotton' [bavovna in Ukrainian, euphemism for explosions] after our final victory," said SBU spokesman Artem Dekhtyarenko.
