The Ukrainian Armed Forces killed Russian "military correspondent" Rostislav Zhuravlyov during hostilities near the village of Pyatykhatky, Zaporizhzhya Region, according to the Russian propaganda news agency RIA Novosti, for which Zhuravlyov worked.

It is also reported that a photojournalist of the news agency, Konstantin Mikhalchevsky, was wounded as a result of the shelling.

Another Russian propaganda outlet, Izvestia, reported that their correspondent Roman Poltakov and cameraman Dmitry Shikov were also injured. Poltakov sustained four shrapnel wounds, while Shikov suffered soft tissue fragments and a small fracture of the hip bone.

According to Ukrainian journalist and blogger Denys Kazanskyy, Rostislav Zhuravlyov has been involved in the aggression against Ukraine since 2014. Zhuravlyov arrived in Donetsk from Russia at the very beginning of March 2014 to foment war. Together with Pavel Gubarev, he stormed the Donetsk regional state administration. Then, when the hostilities started, he killed and robbed Donbas residents as part of one of the armed gangs of the LPR.
