President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has dismissed Vadym Prystayko as Ukraine's ambassador to the United Kingdom.

He was also dismissed from the post of Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), according to the presidential decree.

Recently, Prystayko criticised President Zelenskyy for his remarks about thanking British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace. The ambassador said he did not think that the president's words that he would call Wallace every morning to thank him for his help were "healthy" sarcasm.

Prystayko became ambassador after serving as foreign minister and deputy prime minister for Euro-Atlantic integration.

He was the head of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO. From May to August 2019, he was deputy head of the Presidential Administration. 29 August 2019 – foreign minister in the government of Oleksiy Honcharuk. On 4 March 2020, he was dismissed from the post of minister and appointed deputy prime minister for Euro-Atlantic integration in the government of Denys Shmyhal. On 4 June 2020, he was dismissed from this position due to his appointment as Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom.
