On the night of 20 July, Russians fired missiles of various types at Odesa and Odesa Region, causing destruction and casualties. One person was killed, the head of the Odesa regional military administration, Oleh Kiper, has said on Telegram.

The Russian shelling caused destruction in central Odesa, and a fire broke out over an area of 300 square metres. Emergency response services are working at the scene.

Natalya Humenyuk, the head of the coordination press centre of the Southern Security and Defence Forces, told the telethon that an administrative building in central Odesa was destroyed. Four people were injured.

Warehouses were hit in the region. At 11:08 a.m., the head of the regional military administration provided updated information: the body of a guard of a civilian building was found. The man was born in 2002.

According to Humenyuk, the Russians fired various types of missiles. A submarine on duty in the Black Sea, strategic aviation firing Kh-22 missiles, and coastal missile systems joined the attack. The total number of targets exceeded two dozen.

Russia has been attacking Odesa Region for several days in a row. On the night of 19 July, it shelled port and critical infrastructure in Odesa Region. Two port terminals were hit: a grain terminal and an oil terminal. One person was injured.

On the night of 18 July, Russia attacked Odesa with six Kalibr missiles from the Black Sea, all of which were shot down by air defence forces. The falling debris damaged port infrastructure and private homes. A man was wounded.
