Spain will hand over four Leopard 2 tanks and a batch of armoured vehicles to Ukraine next week, the press service of the Spanish Ministry of Defence has said.
The country plans to send four Leopard 2A4 tanks, 10 armoured personnel carriers, armoured off-road vehicles, light trucks and ambulances to Ukraine next week.
Spain will also send a new batch of light weapons and large-calibre ammunition over the summer.
In addition, today Spain sent a reinforced field hospital to Ukraine. It has emergency surgery capacities, the necessary post-operative facilities, a pharmacy, sterilisation room, laboratory and two hospitalisation modules.
Yesterday, Ukrainian doctors and logistics staff returned from Spain, and after two weeks of intensive training in Saragossa, they can deploy, set up and operate this hospital in the conflict zone.
In late April, the Spanish defence minister announced that the first six of the 10 Spanish Leopard tanks for Ukraine had arrived aboard a transport vessel in Poland.
