In the morning, the Russians fired about 10 missiles at Avdiyivka, Donetsk Region, hitting high-rise buildings, an open area and the territory of the Avdiyivka Coke Plant. So far, one person has been reported dead and two others injured, Vitaliy Barabash, head of the Avdiyivka military administration, has told the news telethon.
"Yesterday, thank God, people had some instinct of self-preservation... There were no injured or killed yesterday, most likely they just heard what was happening around the city at night and therefore did not go out," Barabash said.
However, today, as a result of the shelling, one 38-year-old man was killed, a 79-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were injured. Two people, an elderly man and woman, may be under the rubble after the air strike.
Yesterday Avdiyivka came under artillery and tank fire. There were no casualties.
Russia intensified offensive actions in the areas of Avdiyivka, Tonenke, Keramik and Pervomayske with up to three battalions supported by tanks and armoured vehicles. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled all Russian attacks and prevented the loss of positions.
