Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Nayev said that at midnight, while performing tasks at an observation post, fighters of a territorial defence brigade performing tasks in the area of the Sumy territorial community discovered an enemy subversive reconnaissance group of 8 people.
According to him, the saboteurs were trying to cross the state border of Ukraine and intended to move on to one of the civilian critical infrastructure facilities.
Artillery and mortar units fired on the enemy. Having suffered combat losses, the subversive group moved away. There were no losses among Ukrainian troops.
