Russia works with Belarusian industry to increase ammunition production

Russia is trying to restore ammunition production and reach the pre-war level, and if possible, even surpass it. Major General Vadim Skibitskyy, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, said this in an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda.

"Russia's production plans for 2024 are about 2.1mn rounds of ammunition. However, the Russian Federation will not be able to produce this amount without the help of other countries where it can get components, including gunpowder. In order to resume production and increase it, they are actively working with the Belarusian industry," Skibitskyy said.

According to him, until the beginning of this summer, the Russian army mostly used ammunition from its warehouses. They were manufactured more than 30 years ago and only half of them, according to the GUR, were in good condition.

Since October, Russian troops have been using about 15,000 rounds of ammunition every day.
