The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has adopted a resolution calling the Holodomor an act of genocide aimed at destroying the Ukrainian nation, a member of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, Ukrainian MP Yevheniya Kravchuk, has said.
The resolution "Securing a just peace in Ukraine and lasting security in Europe" received 73 votes.
"The document renews support for all key international initiatives of Ukraine: from the peace formula and the establishment of a special tribunal to the Crimean Platform. It is important that the Assembly recognised the fake elections and referendums organised by the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine as illegal as the ones using political freedoms for military purposes," Kravchuk said.
According to the MP, the PACE also condemned Russia's decision to withdraw from the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which is "an attempt to further militarise trade and food".
