Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte has arrived in Odesa.
He visited, among other places, the port of Odesa and announced plans to strengthen Ukraine's air defence to counter Russian shelling.
"We will continue to support Ukraine for as long as it takes. This winter, Russia will try to hurt Ukraine as much as possible. So the Netherlands will supply extra Patriot missiles so that Ukraine can defend itself against Russia's barbaric airstrikes," he said.
He added that the Netherlands would also help Ukraine purchase patrol boats. The equipment will ensure the safety of grain export routes.
"The terrible events in Israel and the Gaza Strip will not distract us. They only strengthen our conviction that we must never accept aggression and terrorism," Rutte said.
He met President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In a few weeks, the Netherlands will send F-16 fighter jets, which will be used by Ukrainian pilots, to a training centre in Romania.
The country has also recently announced a new aid package for Ukraine. It will include drones, demining equipment and ammunition.
