During the attack on Israel, Hamas terrorists used tactics typical of Russians in Ukraine: they used FPV drones against armoured vehicles. In addition, there are other signs of Russian involvement, said Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, in an interview with UP.
Budanov called the use of FPV drones against armour "the know-how of our war." He believes that no one else but people who have been through the theater of war in Ukraine could do this.
"Since we weren't there, it must have been the Russians," he said.
Other signs pointing to the involvement of Russians in the terrorist attack are that a week before the attack, the Russian Sputnik station began officially broadcasting in Arabic in Lebanon.
"This broadcasting is in an absolutely propagandistic style with obvious Russian narratives," said the DIU chief.
The second sign is that on 24 September, a Russian spacecraft capable of conducting electronic reconnaissance and intercepting satellite signals was moved into Israel's geostationary orbit.
"Let me remind you that between 22 and 24 September, a Russian military delegation paid an official visit to Iran. We know that there were several, let's say, wishes from the Iranian side. One of them was to expand their intelligence capabilities. Now it is clear what kind of intelligence information the Russians have begun to provide to all interested parties. I emphasise that it is not Iran alone, but all the interested parties," he added.
Ukraine is also aware that the equipment of the Defence Forces captured by the Russians was transferred by the enemy to the Hamas group. Most of it is infantry weapons.
Budanov believes that if the conflict in Israel ends in no more than a few weeks, Ukraine should not worry about its war.
"But if the situation drags on, it is quite clear that there will be certain problems with the fact that not only Ukraine will need to supply weapons and ammunition," he said.
