On the night of 18 October, Russian troops carried out six missile strikes on Zaporizhzhya. One of the strikes hit a high-rise building in the central part of the city, killing two people, injuring three, and leaving three others missing, regional military administration head Yuriy Malashko said on Telegram.
"Tonight, between 01:33 and 01:48, the ruscist terrorist troops launched six missile attacks on the city of Zaporizhzhya. The type of missiles is being established," he wrote.
Later it was reported that rescuers, together with law enforcement officers and volunteers, rescued the man and handed him over to doctors. Another 50 residents of the building were evacuated.
The State Emergency Service said that the missile attack destroyed the stairway of the residential building from the 5th to the 3rd floor.
Eight apartments were damaged as a result of the strike. The residents were evacuated to a safe place, warmed up, and provided with psychological and other assistance.
Emergency services continue to work at the site.
